This chair reinterprets the essence of
Japanese floor seating for modern social spaces. Designed for cafés, lounges, and public areas, it invites users to sit closer to the ground, creating a relaxed and connected atmosphere. The low posture encourages a slower rhythm and a sense of calm, blending the comfort of furniture with the informality of floor seating.
The project was done in collaboration with Takara Hamaya, Jotte
Vaes, Liam Ambrogioni and Erik Dooms.

European users are generally less accustomed to floor seating than Japanese users. For this reason, the seat is slightly elevated, with space beneath it to comfortably place the feet.

Designed for easy assembly and disassembly, the mono-material chair can be assembled by one person in about seven minutes using only a Torx screwdriver.
It is all made of recycled HDPE, providing an easy 100% recyclability of the chair after removing the screws and inserts.
