A Paper pendant light
Plec was created as a result of efforts to understand how to embrace the filtering of light, show its value in an everyday element, going further that only illuminating a space.
The first steps in the design process, came by experimenting with paper and textile, sketching ideas and turning them into different prototypes to see which ones were getting me closer to a result that in my eyes achieved the initial goal. I came up with the idea of bringing a geometric figure such as triangles into play was more interesting. I went on to ideate between different triangles and their possibilities.
After exploring this triangles, multidirectionality came along. The idea of embracing light through both bouncing and filtering possibilities, creating an all-around volume of light through a play of triangles.
Plec gives importance to light and to the paper. This comes due to the light coming off in two ways, bounced and filtered.
In here, the paper folds serve as a structure, allowing to use only the minimum aluminium frame.
